Johannesburg, Friday, 17 July 2020 – Award winning recording artist, AKA, releases the visuals for his most controversial hit of 2020, ‘Cross My Heart’. The video drops just as the star prepares to release his fourth studio album.

Social media has been ablaze since Supa Mega dropped short clips of what seemed like snippets of singles to his forth coming album. The star also announced that before he can release any new music he had to keep his promise and release the music videos to his holy trinity namely, ‘Cross My Heart’, ‘Energy’ and ‘Monuments’. The videos are set to drop each week with the pack being led by ‘Cross My Heart’ a single most fans have dubbed a dedication to his latest love interest.

His most notable fashion statement is the fact that he wears his heart on his sleeve which is why it will come as a shocker to most fans that, the rapper didn’t feature the assumed leading lady in the video nor is the story line anywhere close to displaying an AKA who is in love. Rather the rapper took the music video to his most loved spot, Sumo, a popular night club in Johannesburg which is home to the rapper. Though Sumo is popular it’s the club’s kitchen area that is most popular amongst SA rappers with many claiming that one’s career peaks after they become a regular in the kitchen. That’s why on the music video for this hip hop love song, one will see AKA opening the doors to this infamous kitchen therefore signifiying his ownership of SA Hip Hop or the revelation of what really happens in that kitchen when all the stars meet.

Shot by Studio Space, the video is very minimalistic in its story telling with one location to help tell the story of Cross My Heart.
