Johannesburg, 27 July 2020, MTV Base and Durban Tourism are bringing you a sizzling virtual first, the Durban July Township Lounge experience, in the comfort of your home. MTV Base Takeover – Durban July Township Lounge Experience, brought to you by Durban Tourism, premieres on Friday, 31st July on MTV Base (DStv Channel 322) at 16:00 CAT featuring a line-up of Durban’s hottest talent. This includes Gqom Queen, Babes Wodumo, Tzozo, Professor, Tipcee and many more featuring performances at Durban’s iconic venues such as Eyadini, Coastal Lounge, Mojo’s Car Wash and Shisanyama and others.
The city of Ethekwini is usually buzzing with celebrations and parties during this time of the year with the who’s who in the entertainment industry, socialites and politicians making their way to the hottest place to be during this season to celebrate one of the most talked about annual events in the country, the Durban July. This year however, with the pandemic and people navigating their way through the new normal, the Durban July experience has been innovated into a virtual experience enjoyed from the comfort and safety of homes across the country and continent.
