The newly revamped KFC Grayston Drive restaurant affirms KFC’s position as the largest QSR on the continent

On Thursday, October 31, KFC officially unveiled its new concept restaurant located in the CBD of Africa, Sandton City. KFC’s Grayston restaurant presents the brand with the ultimate opportunity to stay ahead of curb – literally – by leading the way in QSR. r

KFC is one of the world’s most-loved brands, with a footprint of over 23 000 restaurants in 140 countries. Locally, the newly renovated Grayston restaurant is one of the brand’s over 920 restaurants across South Africa and is a symbol of the brand’s continued growth, both in South Africa and across the continent.

“As far as innovation, at KFC – whether in product or store design – we always seek to better understand the people we’re creating products for and what matters to them. We continuously bring the best of the world’s innovation to African shores and this new concept restaurant is yet another symbol of our commitment to enabling our team members with the best environments which in turns delivers an exceptional customer experience,” said Dhruv Kaul, Chief Marketing Officer at KFC Africa.

With almost 50 years on the continent – and having won countless accolades and awards, voted on by consumers and the industry – KFC has redesigned the Grayston restaurant to reflect industry trends and the ergonomic needs of the (QSR) consumer. The new look restaurant boasts new and improved facilities and features, all designed with the customer’s experience in mind. In staying true to delivering on customer service excellence, for customers living a digitally led lifestyle, the restaurant boasts self-service kiosks, dedicated click-and-collect parking bays for customers who order online via KFC website or KFC app and specially demarcated collection bays for delivery partners, as well as with free Wifi and wireless charging ports for all customers.

The new look restaurant is a true canvas for customers to experience all the facets of the KFC brand from the food to the proud heritage as well as KFC’s bold commitment to eradicating childhood hunger in South Africa through the Add Hope initiative. To date, the initiative has – through customer donations as well as KFC’s contributions combined – raised a total of over 700 million rand over 10 years.  The programme works directly and indirectly with non-profit organisations to provide 30 million nutritious meals to over 150,000 children in South Africa a year and is growing every year.

“As the largest quick service restaurant that services over millions of customers in each and every province across South Africa, we are not resting on our laurels when it comes to providing a consistent experience in every one of our restaurants. Together with the fresh finger lickin’ goodness that is loved by everyone, KFC Grayston is just one small step in KFC’s plans as we strive to continuously offer our customers the best service”, concludes Kaul.
