Siphosenkosi Gumede (born November 18, 2003), known professionally as Dr Dope, is a South African producer from Klaarwater, Pinetown, celebrated for his innovative fusion of Gqom, Dance, and Afro-electronic sounds.
Since starting his production journey in 2019, Dr Dope has carved out a unique sonic identity defined by broken 3-step rhythms, layered percussion, and trumpet-infused melodies. His viral remix of “Hamba Wena” established his name in the local scene, followed by the hit “Bayathandana” in 2024, which expanded his reach across digital platforms.
