Born Malcom Mncube, DJ Radix is an open format DJ based in Johannesburg, South Africa
The Name Radix is Latin word which means root and has been with Radix since 2004, having been given
the name by his then high school best friend.
From his early childhood Radix has been drawn to art, being able to draw, dance and sing he found
himself exposed to the Djing culture at an early age of 13. He has been djing professionally since 2012 and
has played at almost all the prominent clubs in the country and major festivals such as Kong, Icon, Sumo,
Taboo, Moloko, Coco CPT, Rich DBN, Montana, Booth, Strongbow Big Picnic 2020, Cotton Fest 2022,Liv
Sandton, MTVBAse day 2020, MTV Base Africa Day Concert 2022.
In 2015 Radix first put on his producer hat as he executive produced his first single which featured Stilo
Magolide, Dotcom & Thaiwanda Thai. The song did well, having charted on on `major Radio Stations Such
as 5Fm & Yfm. He has since gone on to release 6 singles and 2 EPs between 2015 & 2020.
During lockdown Radix decided to focus on bettering his music production, exploring sounds of
mbaqanga, Jazz, R&B, Dance Hall & Afrobeat he has recorded a full album that features artist such as Halo
Yagami, Lwah Ndlunkulu, Una Rams & Emtee to mention a few that is set to release second half of the
