Breakout musician and producer BLXCKIE has finally drop his highly anticipated debut album B4Now.

Building a street cred with his cult-like fanbase, BLXCKIE is a breakout artist who is leading the pack of new wave musicians as an undeniable rapper, vocalist and song producer. BLXCKIE, also known as Somnyama Yena Yedwa, is a Durban-born multi-talented artist who has broken the internet with hit after hit, placing him at the forefront of SA Hip Hop and Trap Soul.

Through his increased popularity, BLXCKIE has established a trajectory for legendary status in his career by featuring on big songs and gaining international appeal through the underground music scene. The young musician is now thrilled to drop his first album B4Now.

Capturing the essence of being a new wave artist, B4Now is an album that boldly narrates BLXCKIE’s rising music career. It dives into a variety of sounds that continue to establish him as a global artist in the making, and bravely explores the future for BLXCKIE through his multi-dimensional talent as a rapper, producer, singer and songwriter.

Blxckie presents a 12-track album: with music production credits from London Rhodes, Hercules, WxVambient, Yukiibeats, 808Sallie, GeekFam, and Uno76 who all co-produced some songs on this album with Blxckie. B4 NOW also has Blxckie singing melodies and rapping in both Zulu vernac and English – showing off his range in artistry and dialect; whilst expanding his reach through hip hop music, trap RnB, Amapiano and more – placing him on the continental and global map.

Blxckie delivers an exceptional rap range with switching flows across the entire album B4 NOW. He cleverly moves from mind blowing rap flows heard on standout tracks Gas, Steppin, and Big Time Shlappa which features Lucas Raps. He effortlessly switches his rap style on Uppity and Hut whilst presenting harmonious vocals on amapiano joint Sika; whilst Nasty C appears on B4 NOW with a feature on Ye x4, and  Stripes featuring FLVME.

Launching his album in the heart of Johannesburg on Wednesday night with industry peers, media, friends and family, Blxckie had this to say about his album B4Now “This album is an introduction to who I am, how I arrived at this point and truly expresses what this moment means. It’s not just an album that bares all by looking back to bring us here, now – but it calls on every one of my fans to do the same”

Encouraging his followers to build a sense of community, Blxckie has asked fans to share their story of where they were #B4Now using pictures and videos. “I think it’s important as an artist to tell your story through music and more importantly – I want to visually present this project to show you how much you have been part of this process. I’m about community and I love people. South Africa won’t grow or change with just one person, the music industry won’t grow by doing things alone – I don’t want to do this alone and I never have. So, I’m asking you all to learn who Blxckie was B4NOW so that we can take it forward to the future. You guys, my fans, my army, I’m doing this for you,” said Blxckie.

Be sure to get the album now across all platforms.
