Comedy Central and Savanna rolled out the yellow carpet to celebrate the season 2 launch of the SAFTA nominated Comedy Central Live at the Savanna Virtual Comedy Bar. SA celebrities and comedy’s funniest turned out for the star-studded affair which was hosted in Kramerville Sandton. The show is back and bigger than ever and is set to feature a line-up of legendary South African comedians as well as some of the most talented rising comics in the country. Hosted by actress Zola Nombona, who was dressed in a stunning ensemble for the yellow carpet affair, the COVID adhering and socially distanced event was a comedy bar themed complete with a stand-up set up, candy and popcorn bar & refreshments from Savanna. The night featured stand-up sets from some of SA’s funniest comedians including the hilarious Bongani Dube and Siya Seya who are set to appear on this season of the show. Comedians who also had guests in stitches included Muzi Dlamini, Long John and Stig.
Also, in attendance was one of South Africa’s most popular personalities, Trevor Gumbi, who headlines the premiere episode of the show. Fellow comedians were out in full force including Prince, Sihle Vezi and Lurdes Laice. Celebville turned out numbers to support South African comedy with TV Personality and DJ Lerato Kganyago performing a powerful set while socialite Mohale Motaung and actor Nkuli Tshirumbula enjoyed the night’s festivities.
