21 April 2023, Johannesburg, South Africa: Africa’s award winning rapper and pioneer, Focalistic returns to music with a brand single titled, Baja Ko Pele alongside MJ, Xduppy, Shaunmusiq and Ftears.
Garankuwa’s finest and Ke Star hitmaker, Focalistic releases the new single at the back of the success of his critically acclaimed debut album Ghetto Gospel. Baja Ko Pele unlike the latter is a fun single that highlights and gives praise to the evolution of barcadi music.
Baja Ko Pele is produced by Quantum music trailblazers, Shaunmusiq and Ftears. This new hit single features vocals from fellow PSL member, MJ whose cadence compliments the fusion created by the Bhebha producers.
Prior to its release, a snippet of the song went viral on TikTok, gaining over 40 million views with famous artists, such as Pabi Cooper and Thee Buhle joining in on the dance challenge.
Baja Ko Pele which loosely translates to “they are eating in front” is an aphorism used in the township, when a van or truck passes by and has passengers at the back. Pedestrians usually scream baja ko pele to make the back passengers feel left out of the conversation or any food that is being served to the passengers sitting in the front of the van or truck.
Baja Ko Pele is available on all digital music stores and is part of the roll out for his #StraataNationAddressSuperSportPark set to take place on the 10th June 2023.
