Friday, 17 March 2023, Johannesburg Most recognized as the young music genius behind the 2021 platinum selling single, Sondela featuring Blxckie and Riky Rick, Yumbs gears up for another successful year in music with his new banger, PIKI PIKI.
The new single is galvanized by one of the most recognizable theme songs for a TV show, The Boondocks. An adult animated cartoon series which became popular in the late 2000. Starring two inquisitive young black men’ the show’s impact inspired local hitmaker Yumb’s to recreate his own version of theme song, with a fusion of amapiano and a touch of Justin 99 with Pcee.
“Crazy fact actually…My friends (Uncle Vinnny) were watching the boondocks whilst I was in studio with Justin & Pcee, the idea of sampling the boondocks came to me just after Justin arranged the percussion loop on the song, we had just recorded…the rest is history !!” expressed Yumbs
PIKI PIKI is currently trending on TikTok whilst the original producer of the theme song has given his stamp of approval for the remake to Yumbs by following him on Instagram.
