Johannesburg- Wednesday 18 January 2023: Kabelo Ndlovu also known as Uncle Vinny has become an influential voice in the modern day youth culture of Mzansi and recently Africa, accumulating over a million followers on Instagram and Tik Tok combined.
Following his recent travels to Europe and the rest of Africa, the young star was inspired to go into studio and create his own interpretation of the fast growing genre, Amapiano. Giving birth to his first ever EP titled Youth League dropping this coming Friday, the 20th of January 2023.
The EP features a star-studded cast, including Major League, Mellow and Sleazy as well TNK. Ahead of flying out to Ghana to host Afronation 2022, Uncle Vinny dropped two singles in December, the two songs where inspired by Kwaito, namely, Noma Yini with Gustavington & Asbonge thee Vocalist as well as the radio friendly PHOLAS featuring Thabsie and new kid in the block, 24.
I want to use my influence and voice to empower the youth, hence the title of the EP. I worked with a majority of unknown artists on the EP cause they deserve the break. I also wanted to show the kids that look up to me, that the sky is the limit. Expressed Uncle Vinny
First introduced to the culture of Amapiano via the internationally recognized, Balcony Mix Sessions hosted by Major League DJZ ,Uncle Vinny joins a successful list of artists who were birthed by the popular sessions, including Pabi Cooper, Kamo Mphela, Thlogi and recent dance challenge creator, Goodguy Styles.
