Tellaman Wants The Chance To Do “Love Again”

“Love is patient, love is kind” but relationships have to be given at

least one chance first

Since the successful debut of God Decides, Tellaman has experienced musical milestones,

collaborated with artists around the world, and featured on the highly anticipated Coming 2

America soundtrack. Following the success of “Overdue” featuring Sha Sha and Oxlade, as well

as the release of his first solo single of the year, “Superstar”, Tellaman presents a new solo

single, “Love Again”.

With the year drawing to a close, most of us are reflecting on the good, bad, and ugly, Tellaman

muses over relationships where one partner has yet to get over their ex. Drawing instrumental

inspiration from Chris Brown’s “Back To Sleep”, Tellaman lulls audiences into his mind’s

working, where he questions a lover’s inability to reciprocate love. The good book suggests,

“Love is patient, love is kind”. At the same time, while there may be love, and it may be patient

and kind, the love in a relationship must be mutual.

“Love Again” embodies the age-old adage of “Once burned, twice shy” as it relates to a lover

who was once disillusioned in love and subsequently questions the validity of any other love to

come. “How you gon’ win if you don’t take a chance on love”, Tellaman questions. Granted, he’s

clear in noting that while he may not be perfect, he acknowledges the fallibility of his human

nature. At the same time, to be asked to make up for heart pains he didn’t cause isn’t exactly a

relationship that can be sustained.

In the voice that made him a beloved of South Africa, Tellaman begs the question, even after

love gone wrong, can one experience love again?
