Johannesburg – Talent singer/songwriter Jessica Laura Marshall re-emerges with the hit single Kuzohlangana which features Tee Jay and Josiah de Disciple, ThackzinDJ and 9numba taken off her upcoming EP that is set to be released later this year.
According to Marshall, Kuzohlangana draws inspiration from the obvious tough times that various South Africans have come face to face with, including the Coronavirus that is wreaking havoc across the globe and leaves behind many casualties like job losses and death. The single hopes to reignite the desire to keep the faith, knowing that things will turn around.
On the backdrop of a Amapiano beat with a hint soulfulness, her sultry vocals belt out lyrics such as ungakhathazeki izinto zizohlangana which means don’t worry, things will come together, marking the entire song with very compelling words of encouragement that hit the soul, while dancing to the catchy and buoyant genre that has taken Mzansi by storm.
“As much as I don’t know what this song release will do to the listener when they consume it, I truly hope it’ll touch as many hearts as it is intended to and encourage them to never lose hope. It is no secret that the times we are living in right now are extremely difficult for so many of us, hence I was inspired to share a message of hope so that while we dance, we are reminded of the power of being positive and are encouraged of a possible better future,” said the songbird.
“I hope it’ll change our perspective on how we see and view life, to ultimately living for the better,” she said, adding also that this breakout single is the beginning of an exciting journey in the music scene that she has been working towards, in the background, for close to ten years now.
