PITORI STAND UP! Red Bull Dance Your Style crowns Tshwane’s best dancer

Johannesburg, 28 June 2023 – The City of Tshwane brought all the vibes this past weekend, as Kabelo ‘Woken’ Matlou secured the third spot of the Red Bull Dance Your Style South Africa competition, which is set to take place in Durban, September this year.

Taking place across 130 events in more than 30 countries, Red Bull Dance Your Style celebrates dance and performance, to recreate the social, community and party atmosphere that street-dance styles originated from. The Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final will be held in Germany December 2023 where all the winners from the different countries will participate.  

Courtnae Paul had the dancers showcasing their skills to a range of music across different music genres. The dancers showed their talent and proved their skills; however, there can only be one winner in each region. “Woken” won the hearts of the audience with a resounding victory. “I’m so excited that I won because there is nothing, I love more than dancing. When I heard about Red Bull Dance Your Style, I immediately started to prepare for it,” he shared. “I really feel like I deserved this win and will work hard when I compete at the National Finals in Durban,” he continued.
