19 May 2023, Johannesburg, South Africa: Amapiano award winning artist, Pabi Cooper releases her much anticipated single, Dali Wami produced by music protégé, Yumbs.
Following the success of her debut EP, Cooperville, Pretoria born rising star, Pabi Cooper returns to the top with a brand new single featuring vocal heavyweights, Mawhoo and Nkosazana Daughter.
When speaking about the collaboration an excited Pabi Cooper said ” I have always wanted to work with Mawhoo and Nkosazana and though the initial idea was to make songs with them separately, I am happy that things worked out the way that they did and that we all have given birth to a song to help us chase summer”
Dali Wami, and is an ode to a love that is lost and yet to be found. The single is led by music power house Mawhoo accompanied Nkosazana’s serenading voice on the bridge with a redoubtable closing from Pabi Cooper. Dali Wami was produced by the platinum selling producer, Yumbs who is the legend behind Kelvin Momo’s Ivy League and Musa Key’s Vula Mlomo just to name a few.
” When Pabi Cooper pulled up with Mawhoo and Nkosazana Daughter in studio, I knew that I had to create and produce something that would inspire them to pen down something beautiful, as soon as Mawhoo recorded her first few lines, even the atmosphere in studio changed and the rest was history” explains Yumbs
Dali Wami is inspired by amapiano with a fusion of afropop and a touch of maskandi, allowing the 3 vocalists the opportunity to sing from a place which will make Mzansi want to fall in love again
About Pabi Cooper
Paballo Mothapo was born and raised in Pretoria, Shoshanguve. She is an artist, dancer and producer. Pabi grew up loving and playing football whilst she embraced music through the art of dance. She has one other sibling and is very family oriented.
Her music career took off in 2020 after she found herself in the studio for the first time in Durban and that is the moment her platinum selling single Isphithiphithi was birthed.
Having loved dance from a young age, her shot to fame was influenced by her dance videos going viral. Being young and influential , Pabi has become a household name in the music industry.
Pabi Cooper’s Banyana Ke Bafana which was her 2nd single after the release of Isphithiphithi is platinum single and she has a own record label called, Cooper Entertainment.
