Bobby Sessions has enlisted Megan Thee Stallion for “I’m A King,” our first listen the upcoming Coming 2 America soundtrack.
Produced by AJRuinedMyRecord and BL$$D, the three-minute record hears Sessions sharply deliver regal bars over a drum heavy beat. While his chorus features a catchy repetition of “I’m a king, I’m a king, I’m a king,” Megan Thee Stallion flips it to “I’m a queen, I’m a queen, I’m a queen” and also touches on creating a royal legacy for her granddaughters.
Coming 2 America will see Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall reprise their main roles as King Akeem and Semmi, along with the original Coming to America characters such as barbershop owner and barber Clarence and Morris, Reverend Brown and Sexual Chocolate singer Randy Watson. Joining Murphy and Hall for the sequel are Jermaine Fowler as Akeem’s son Lavelle, Leslie Jones as Lavelle’s mother, Tracy Morgan as Lavelle’s uncle, Shari Headley as Akeem’s wife Lisa, Teyana Taylor as General Izzi’s henchwoman and Wesley Snipes as General Izzi, the older brother of Iman who was betrothed as Akeem’s wife in the 1988 film.
Stream Bobby Sessions and Megan Thee Stallion’s “I’m A King” on Spotify and Apple Music. Coming 2 America premieres March 5 on Amazon Prime Video.
