Kuyakhanya, which translates to ‘there is light’ as UMG in partnership with Ace of Spades, handover platinum plaques for Kusezo Khanya. Sam Deep and Playgal alongside DeMthuda, Babalwa M and Sipho Magudulela celebrate going platinum with the undoubted hit single Kusezo Khanya. The single was awarded with platinum status yesterday at the UMG offices to celebrate this milestone. To add to this moment, the official music video was teased and set to go live on YouTube today AT 15h00.
After just a few months of making sure the streets are dancing, the smash hit goes platinum. Celebrations took place to show their hard work has paid off. The single had also peaked into the top 10 of radio charts. This sets up for Sam Deep, as he is about to unleash new music with MaWhoo. The single Thokoza with MaWhoo has been teased on socials drops this Friday, 19 August 2022. We can only expect excellence here forth from the talented young star.
The high-quality music video, set to go live today, showcases working towards your dreams for a better and a shiner day. The song is an inspiration for a better tomorrow. The laid-back mid-tempo Amapiano song, it has a melodic guitar intro which gives the song a bit of a Samba feel, yet still authentic to the ‘Mapiano sound. The song features some greats in the Amapiano genre, and it is a song one plays over and over, as it’s very easy on the ear with the simple harmonies from the vocals which makes it an easy sing-along.

About Kusezo Khanya:
The song talks about ‘the hustle’ and the struggles that come with it, however the main focus of the song is to instil hope to those who are committed to their ‘hustle’. The track features De Mthuda who dominates the genre and yet here the approach to the song is a lot more laid back than his typical sound. Sam Deep collaborated on the track with Playgal, an up-and-coming female DJ.
