â€śIn any contest, there can only be one winner. This world-class tournament demonstrated that ultra-performance leads to ultra-victory. While there can only be one team and one winner, it takes the strength of an entire community, not just the players on the field but the supporters on the stands. We would like to thank the fans who came out and chanted for their favourite team,” said Shell Downstream South Africa General Manager for lubricants, Anton Niemann.

“Shell is a household name that is synonymous with motoring, with a 100 year history in South Africa it has given us the opportunity to play an important role across multiple industries in the country, not only as a premier oil company, but also as a committed corporate citizen and change agent, “said Hloniphizwe Mtolo, country chairman of Shell Downstream South Africa.

The business supports and sponsors multiple initiatives in education, enterprise development and other sectors including sports.  This is why Shell South Africa is committed to the development of soccer through the Shell Helix Ultra Cup as it strives to further opportunities to propel the impact, power and progress of all South Africans.

“Shell is the number one global and South African lubricant supplier and it prides itself with high performance quality in its products and the event was no different. The pride and passion on the faces of the fans was evident. Shell believes that through the rivalry, there was solidarity, and in sports we were ONE.” added Niemann.

“Congratulations to both teams for bringing their ultra-performance to the game today and well done to Amakhosi for coming up top, and a big thank you to all our partners and stakeholders who made the day a success for the second year running” added Mtolo.

The Shell Helix Ultra Cup will have its third instalment in 2020 where we’ll see Amakhosi and Masandawana go head to head in the final addition of this prestigious game.
