South African born, international Amapiano star Drip Gogo has penned down his best work yet on with a new AmaPiano banger titled Umkhovu.
Umkhovu, an isiZulu term which translates to “zombie” which resonates with the
progression of the track. This song is inspired by tales of the supernatural and possession that have been passed down from generations, where village members were said to have
witnessed witches perform rituals to zombie-fy the deceased and use them to
attack village locals.
With a positive spin to the narrative the song speaks of daily activities performed
which are said to invoke one’s ancestral spirits. Umkhovu details these actions and activities as progresses alongside and enchanting rhythmic baseline.
“This song is about embracing our African Spirituality & diversity is true story telling“~ Drip Gogo
