For over two decades, Danny K has stood as one of South Africa’s most successful and enduring pop artists. Since his 2000 debut single “Hurts So Bad,” he has delivered a stream of chart-topping hits, won multiple South African Music Awards, and earned recognition as a true legend of the local music industry.
This December, Danny K celebrates 25 years in music with the release of Kollection (2000–2025) an 18-track greatest hits album featuring digitally remastered classics that span his remarkable career. The project showcases his signature blend of pop, R&B, and soul, highlighting the timeless songs that helped define South African pop radio through the 2000s and beyond.
Leading the release is a brand-new remix of “Hurts So Bad” by award-winning producer Sketchy Bongo. The reimagined version transforms Danny’s breakout hit into an Afro-house, dance-floor-ready anthem, introducing a new generation of listeners to the song that made him a household name, while offering longtime fans a fresh, celebratory take on a classic.
The collection also features previously unreleased music, including “Made 2 Love You” remixed by DJ Kent a soulful, groove-driven collaboration that bridges pop, R&B, and house music seamlessly. In addition, two standout songs from his landmark collaborative album Same Difference with the late Mandoza are included. a project that became a cultural milestone and earned the Best Pop Album award at the South African Music Awards.
Across his career, Danny K has released six solo albums, earned countless No. 1 singles, and set benchmarks for crossover success with a catalogue that continues to inspire, connect, and unite South Africans across generations. Kollection (2000–2025) marks both a celebration and a new beginning. In 2026, Danny K will return to the studio to record his seventh solo album, ushering in the next chapter of an extraordinary musical journey.
