12 June 2023, Johannesburg, South Africa: Amapiano award winning artist, Pabi Cooper has been nominated for a BET Award.
Born Paballo Basetsana Mothapo, songwriter, singer, dancer and record label owner Pabi Cooper is officially a contender for the Viewer’s Choice Best New International Act at this year’s BET Awards.
Speaking about her nomination a humble Pabi Cooper said ” I am blessed to be nominated for this award but more than anything I am blessed to be around such supportive friends, family and a team that believes in all my crazy dreams. I am humbled by the love from all over the world and don’t take it for granted that there are people out there who look at me and think wow, you inspire me. Please vote for me also so I can win and bring this award back to Mzansi le Pitori”
The nomination comes after the rising star was recently in Miami for Afronation with the Africori team and the release of her radio chart topping single, Dali Wam alongside Yumbs, Mawhoo and Nkosana Daughter.

About Pabi Cooper
Paballo Mothapo was born and raised in Pretoria, Shoshanguve. She is an artist, dancer and producer. Pabi grew up loving and playing football whilst she embraced music through the art of dance. She has one other sibling and is very family oriented.
Her music career took off in 2020 after she found herself in the studio for the first time in Durban and that is the moment her platinum selling single Isphithiphithi was birthed.
Having loved dance from a young age, her shot to fame was influenced by her dance videos going viral. Being young and influential , Pabi has become a household name in the music industry.
Pabi Cooper’s Banyana Ke Bafana which was her 2nd single after the release of Isphithiphithi is platinum single and she has a own record label called, Cooper Entertainment.
