Chicastro & Just Naledi announces their joint EP

Chicastro has been a DJ from as early as in his teenage years in 2009 and has grown
significantly his love for music and moves. Chicastro upon his musical journey crosses
paths with Just Naledi at Bridges For Music, who shares very similar interests in music.
Both experienced in playing festivals, major establishments and major events around
Western Cape. Chicastro & Just Naledi join forces to ignite their love, passion and
skills in producing Afrotech music. Both being recent graduates at Bridges for Music
Academy, join forces to produces “Just Us EP”.

Just Us EP is a showcase of newly learnt skills by the Bridges For Music Alumnus,
with blend of their self taught skills. With only 5 songs on the EP, it is worth a wait as
they are energy packed. Just Us is scheduled to be available in all digital stores on
the 29th November.

About Chicastro
Born as Sinesipho Gxowa better known as Chicastro is a self made music producer,
dancer and a disc jockey who plays and produces all genres. Chicastro’s primary
genre since the beginning of his music journey has been always Afro-Tech/Afro-
House & Deep-Tech music inspired by the likes of Black Coffee, Shimza, Culo De
Song, Siphe Tebeka and many others.

The test of his Dj skills began in the small township of Zwelihle in Hermanus, from
local tarvens, festivals and birthday parties. Since then he has grown outside
Overstrand region market to provincial market in Cape Town to venues like Seek
Lounge, Hood Natives, Djs Inn, Chippa’s Place, Worcester Lounge as well events
like New Wave Alert, New Year’s Eve in Worcester, July Babies: Mavala Birthday
Celebration, Ubumnandi Festival & Ungazincish Nice Time Festival including popular
EDM clubs in Cape Town, namely Modular Cape Town & The Village Idiot.

Chicastro’s hardwork saw him becoming part of the well acknowledged management
team of Mavala Media Space, that have nurtured the likes of Bravo Le Roux &
Younger Ubenzani. Chicastro debuted “Gentle Grooves” EP in 2022 as an
introduction just after joining the management.

The project charted on top 100 on Apple Music’s Electronic Dance Music charts,
something that sparked high potential needs to be unleashed. His highly anticipated
debut album titled “Owengoma” released on 22nd September 2023 charted Apple
Music Top 200, peaking at number 15. Chicastro is also fresh graduate and proud
alumni of Bridges For Music Academy, where he enhanced his music production, dj
skill and music business knowledge while having a privileged to rub shoulders with
international acknowledged superstars such as Msaki, Sun El, Keinemusik, Naak
Musiq to name a few among others. Chicastro is releasing a collaborative EP with
Just Naledi titled “Just Us” on the 29th November 2024, a showcase of skills they
both acquired at Bridges For Music Academy. Chicastro seeks to grow an elegant
and clean brand that will thrive easily in commercial space, corporate and non
corporate. That is evident on his upcoming collaborative efforts with the UK based D
Malice Records, a project that is set to be released early January.
About Just Naledi

Emerging from the vibrant pulse of Khayelitsha, Naledi Nabela known professionally
as Just Naledi is a rising star in the world of Afro Tech, Afro House, and 3 Step. Born
on the 22nd of October in the village of Nqamakwe in the Eastern Cape, Just Naledi
moved to Cape Town in 2009, where her love affair with music began to take shape
against the energetic backdrop of the city’s Afro-centric music scene.
Beyond music, Just Naledi is also a talented Fashion Designer, having graduated
from Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) with a degree in Fashion
Design in 2022. Her creative versatility shines through in both her music and her
fashion, merging the two worlds into a seamless expression of culture, style, and
sound.

In 2024, she further honed her talent by enrolling in the Bridges for Music Academy’s
Talent Development Programme (Term 2), an experience that solidified her
commitment to evolving as an artist and innovator.
Known for her infectious energy and innovative approach to Afro Tech, Just Naledi
captivates audiences with her deep-rooted African rhythms and vibrant, forward-
thinking beats. Each set is a journey through Afrocentric rhythms, drawing listeners
into a sonic landscape that celebrates her roots while pushing the boundaries of Afro
Tech, Afro House, and 3 Step.

As a DJ and producer, Just Naledi is turning heads and winning hearts, poised to
become a defining voice in the Afro Tech and Afro House scenes, both in Cape
Town and beyond.
