Johannesburg, 13 August 2021: Apple Music today announced South African deep house music producer and DJ, KVRVBO (pronounced Karabo), as the next Isgubhu cover star in celebration of his 12-track debut album, Euphoria.

Born and raised in Duduza, a township East of Johannesburg, KVRVBO was heavily influenced by the nostalgic sounds of classic house, fused with the genre’s new school flare of the late ’00s. After the release of his first two successful EPs, Plutonix Dreams (2018) and Dublin Express (2020) under Kid Fonque’s Stay True Sounds label, Euphoria is a versatile ode to KVRVBO’s musical roots. Featuring Jus Tadi, Simbad, Avi Subban, Rephlex and Billowjazz, as well as Tahir Jones and Bongani Mehlomakhulu on the vocals, each track evokes a unique feeling through hard kicks and punchy basslines.
Taking over Isgubhu By… for the month is the newly crowned “queen of Amapiano”, Lady Du (real name Dudu Ngwenya).
Lending her vocals to her scene-announcing feature on DJ Clock’s “Ama-Beer”, to the Junior De Rocka assisted smash hit “Catalia”, as well to one of SA’s biggest Amapiano tracks, Busta 929 and Mpura’s “Umsebenzi Wethu”, Lady Du’s choice of SA albums that influenced her choice for Isgubhu By… covers a wide scope of electronic music – from House to Amapiano.
When talking about Mr Jazziq & Busta 929 classic album, Mabajabule Abantu, she told Apple Music, “This album is filled with street bangers, music you listen to with your boot open, or dancing on top of the table. This was the beginning of our journey as the youth of piano.”
