Johannesburg, South Africa – Friday, May 22, 2020 –The moment the hip hop game has been waiting for is upon us as as multi-platinum and diamond selling rapper, AKAreleased three brand new singles at midnighttitled Cross My Heart, Energy and Monuments featuring fellow hit maker and long-time friend Yanga Chief

Renowned for his efforts of always putting out timeless music, SupaMega returns to the scene with new music that will remind fans why he is still one of the greatest to ever do it.

The Megacy was excited when they found out that there was music on the way but what made this more interesting was when AKA announced that he was going to drop more than just one single.

AKA always strive to bring out the best music at the most important times in a fantastic style. This Friday is another historical moment in Hip-hop and Urban Culture in Africa… – Benza.

Cross My Heart is a slow Bova style love ballad, which talks about the promises of pure love, in the lyrics he describes the feelings of being with a new love interest.

“Cross My Heart is inspired by love. I think being in love inspires some people to write music and this is one of those times. I feel right now what the song suggests and it’s a beautiful  feeling. I know some people out there will be able to relate,” said the Supa Mega.

The song was produced by Tweezy, who is no stranger to working with AKA as he’s  produced some of the rapper’s biggest hits including All Eyes On Me and Run Jozi.

Produced by award winning artist Makwa Beats, the second single sounds familiar but comes with its own identity and a twist because‘in Mega we trust until the finish’. Energy is the name of this one and is a reminder to everyone who has been wondering about who is at the top of this SA Hip Hop mountain.

On this song I am appreciating the direction the sound is going but also weighing in on what I have to offer. It’s interesting how things have changed and I am not even sure what world we are going to come back to, if we are. With that said I am just using this time to actually to better myself on everything and do more beyond the music,” he said.

To complete this holy trinity is the Monument with usual suspect Yanga Chief with whom he’s made nothing short of classics. With a sweet bounce to it and nothing but pure raps, this song marks a moment in SA Hip Hop as this is the first time AKA releases a song produced by Tweezy featuring Yanga Chiefsince Levels in 2014. #Levels. The energy on this body of work is monumental, cross our hearts you won’t be disappointed. The scratching on the song was laced by legendary DJ Grandmaster Ready D.
