South African Afro House artist Mac Lopez releases his debut EP, Pardy with Mac Lopez. Marking a return to his signature Afro House roots, the project is inspired by his transformative travels and deep immersion in the global Afro House scene.
The EP draws from Mac Lopez’s journeys to countries including Qatar, Mozambique, and Tanzania, experiences that reignited his passion for the genre. “Exploring music beyond my borders showed me the universal power of Afro House,” says Mac Lopez. “It inspired me to dive back into my roots and create something true to who I am.” His creative spark was further fuelled by attending Kunye, a celebrated Afro House event hosted by DJ Shimza, where he reconnected with the genre’s authentic spirit.
Produced alongside EMKAY, Pardy with Mac Lopez features standout collaborations with Mawhoo, Sino Msolo, TBO, Kristinah Blue, and NOXIEKAY, whose soulful performances amplify the EP’s infectious energy. The project’s title reflects both Mac Lopez’s vibrant personality and his deep connection to the African soulful sound that has shaped his identity.
