Platinum selling artist, Mthandazo Gatya has released his summer anthem contender Jikelele, featuring DJ Mvzzle from his upcoming album titled, New Age Healers. Marking the first collaboration between the two musicians. Mthandazo has explained the intention of the jovial, upbeat single by writing:
“Jikelele, featuring DJ Mvzzle, is a song of victory and it talks about everything that is happening in my life right now.”
In light of the victories and continued support from fans, the SAMA nominated artist with the release of Jikelele scripts the availability of his upcoming debut album, New Age Healer’s availability for pre-order sales with an instant gratification of his 2021 radio hit single, Uzobizwa.
The album promises to help continue telling Mthandazo’s story using his unique voice in music as his signature is the undeniable mixture of Afropop fused with maskandi and spiritual influences.

Mthandazo has created his own line through the fusion of house influenced productions with inspirational afro-pop messaging lyrically. Jikelele is not an expectation of this formula. Vocally, the musician’s voice continues to explore his baritone with the vibrato reminiscent of maskandi musicians. Lyrically, the song is an ode to the grace and blessings God has given the musician, as he explains having searched all over the world for a Man who would provide for him as He has.
The production of the single is a house influenced beat. This is as the hi hats, synth bass and keys are motifs which provide the jovialness of the single. The synth keys during Mthandazo’s vocal breaks become what carries the single forward.
