Johannesburg,13 September 2021: The star-studded 2021 MTV “VMAs” took place on the 12 September, at the Barclays Center, hosted by Doja Cat who made her VMAs hosting debut. Wizkid, Lil Nas X, Justin Bieber and Olivia Rodrigo took home the biggest honours of the night while the likes of Camila Cabello, Chlöe, Jack Harlow, Justin Bieber, Kacey Musgraves, Normani, The Kid Laroi, Lil Nas X, Machine Gun Kelly, Olivia Rodrigo, Ozuna, Shawn Mendes, Tainy and Twenty One Pilots delivered showstopping performances. Wizkid took home a 2021 MTV Video Music Awards for “Brown Skin Girl” the 2019 collaboration with BeyoncĂ©, Blue Ivy and SAINt JHN. Other big winners included Lil Nas X who won the night’s biggest award “Video of the Year” for “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”, Justin Bieber scored “Artist of the Year” while Olivia Rodrigo took home 3 Moonmen including “Song of the Year” and “Best New Artist”.

The show featured stellar performances from this year’s host Doja Cat, Lil Nas X performing a Medley of “Industry Baby” & “Montero”, Chlöe( of Chlöe x Halle”) with her debut performance of “Have Mercy” and a surprise performance by Normani of her single “Wild Side” amongst others.
