Gigi Lamayne, born Genesis Gabriella Tina Manney on July 7, 1994, in Lenasia, South Africa, is a prominent 9-time award-winning South African rapper, songwriter, poet and media and reality TV personality.
She began her artistic journey at the age of 11 by composing poetry and transitioned to rapping at 16. Her music draws inspiration from artists like Jean Grae, Bob Marley, Brenda Fassie, and Tupac Shakur. In 2013, Gigi gained significant recognition by winning multiple awards at the South African Hip Hop Awards, including Best Female, Best Newcomer, and Best Mixtape.
She continued her success by releasing notable tracks such as “Ice Cream,” “Jungle Fever,” and “Lobola.” Her discography includes albums like “i-Genesis” (2016), “Mermaids and Stuff” (2021), and “Set In Stone” (2022).
