The mid-tempo R&B song is the perfect vibe to kick-off the summer as Jeremih, Bryson and Chris sing about the back and forth and sometimes emotionally toxic tug of war between lovers, who can’t seem to get on the same page about where they stand. In the lush music video directed by BenMarc, the R&B trio can be seen all vying for the attention of the same woman unbeknownst to them. The high-profile return is produced by Cássio (Don Toliver, NBA YoungBoy) and Jeremih’s frequent collaborator, Retro Future, who has worked with him on both Late Nights: The Album & 2018’s Ty Dolla $ign collaboration project, MIH-TY.

When discussing the new single and his long-awaited return, Jeremih had the following to say, “I feel like big songs have become a lost art in male R&B and with me, CB and Bryson, it just feels massive immediately. I know a lot of folks are going to say it’s been too long and I agree with them. I’ve definitely felt like R&B has been missing me, but I didn’t want to return with something that I felt wasn’t timeless. So, after getting off the road with 50 Cent last year, I finally got some time to put together something that I believe can last forever again.”

Jeremih has become a staple in the music industry earning a total of twenty-five platinum and gold certifications as well as billions of streams throughout his illustrious fifteen year career. The Chicago native, who plays multiple instruments, has also written songs and collaborated with music’s heaviest hitters including Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Big Sean, DJ Khaled and Miley Cyrus to name a few. However even with all his success, Jeremih admits this current chapter of his career is the best he has felt musically. As it marks his departure from Def Jam Records and his new foray into independent artistry and CEO of Late Night Records. Taking full control of his creative destiny allows the musician, who has undeniably shaped the sound of R&B and Hip-Hop for over a decade to establish a new path for himself without limits.

“Wait On It” not only signifies Jeremih’s triumphant return to music, but also demonstrates a musical power player, who is ready to re-invigorate the sound of R&B/Hip-Hop as only he can.
