COLE BENNETT & LYRICAL LEMONADE UNVEIL NEW SINGLE + VIDEO “GUITAR IN MY ROOM” WITH LIL DURK & KID CUDI
Award-winning music video director and culture-defining creator Cole Bennett and his multimedia brand Lyrical Lemonade – the community-driven platform and YouTube channel with over 10 Billion views worldwide – unveil a brand new single and music video “Guitar In My Room” with Lil Durk and Kid Cudi via Lyrical Lemonade/Def Jam Recordings. Listen HERE. Watch the music video HERE.
The track layers cinematic orchestration over breezy acoustic guitar. Against this melodic backdrop, Lil Durk serves up confessional verses before honestly pleading on the chorus, “Accept me please, accept me for me, don’t judge me off my past life, I want you to believe.” Meanwhile, Kid Cudi turns up with an old school Cudder cadence, projecting his instantly recognizable booming intonation through the haze. The accompanying claymation visual proves instantly provocative as it pins an arresting and trippy narrative to the song’s otherworldly ebb and flow.
This weekend on Sunday October 1, Lyrical Lemonade takes over Salt Shed in Chicago, IL with what promises to be an unforgettable 10 Year! Anniversary Show.
Lyrical Lemonade kicked off its partnership with Def Jam Recordings by dropping “Doomsday” with Juice WRLD and Cordae earlier this summer. Thus far, it has amassed over 40 million Spotify streams and 11 million-plus YouTube views on the music video. Rolling Stone professed, “Lyrical Lemonade tapped into its roots,“ and HYPEBEAST promised, “Flow-wise, the track is just as seamless, as the rappers’ lively bars and smart wordplay build off one another.” Rap Radar applauded, “the posthumous cut finds the rappers exchanging braggadocious bars and witty wordplay,“ and Consequence of Sound wrote, “Lyrically, Juice WRLD and Cordae channel Eminem—whom they’ve both called a major influence—over Dre‘s vintage beat.“
And it’s just the beginning…expect more powerhouse collaborations to be announced soon!
