With the return of Africa’s biggest hip hop festival, comes the return of its flagship event, the SA Hip Hop Summit. The annual event caters to a panel of artists and industry specialists who educate and converse with upcoming rappers, producers, DJs and dancers on topics related to the industry.
This year’s focus is on the state of hip-hop culture today. Attendees will engage in dialogue and breakaway workshop discussions. They will be encouraged to come up with solutions in all areas related to the local hip hop scene.

The SA Hip Hop Summit will be followed by the Hennessy Back To The City festival on 1 October 2022.
Over 20 000 people attended in 2019, and this year, it’s back for its anticipated 13th annual event at Mary Fitzgerald Square, Newtown. It will feature over 100 acts including A-Reece, Blxckie, Big Zulu and Nadia Nakai; 3 stages, food and clothing stalls, a basketball court, a skate park, live graffiti artists, b-boys.
