South Africa, 4 December 2019: South Africa’s premier lifestyle music festival – BLOCK PARTY are offering a platform for local musicians to showcase their talent in front of thousands of people and also share a stage with top local and international artist Rick Ross.
As part of the two cities tour this month, Block Party in partnership with MTV Base (DStv channel 322) and GagasiFM are running a competition via social media platform, Twitter – that will see four winners get a chance to perform at Kings Park Stadium Outer Fields on Saturday, 21 December and at the East London, Buffalo Park Stadium on Sunday, 22 December.
To qualify, the entrants must upload a track and pin it on their Twitter pages, tag @BlockPartySA and hashtag #DBNBlockPartyTalent #ELBlockPartyTalent – the track that has the most likes, retweets and comments using the hashtags will win the outstanding prize of performing on one of the most sought after stages this December. The competition will see two winners be selected per region, Durban and East London with the competition opening on Wednesday, 4 December 2019. All entries will be tallied and rounded up with the winner being announced on Thursday, 12 December 2019.
Said Marketing Manager for the Block Party, Christinah Mazibuko: “Durban and East London youth are never afforded the same opportunities in the entertainment business as those in the greater metropolitans. This is why we want to open the industry to them and who knows, maybe these four youths could be the next NastyC or Kwesta of the industry?”
The two per region winners will stand a chance to grace the same stage as Grammy-nominated rapper Rick Ross and over 15 local artists at the Rick Ross Block Party set to take place in Durban on Saturday, 21 December and East London on Sunday, 22 December 2019.
Tickets for the Rick Ross Block Party are available at www.webtickets.co.za and/or any Pick n Pay outlets nationwide with prices starting from R345 and doors open at 2PM. The Rick Ross Block Party is brought to you in partnership with MTV Base (DStv channel 322) and GagasiFM.
