Johannesburg – Sunday, 28 April 2019: Cape Town continues to maintain its glory, as the city’s B-Boy Benny scoops the Red Bull BC One Final South Africa 2019. Making this an even more unforgettable win, is 13 years old B-Girl Keisha‘s victory in the female category of the Red Bull BC One Final 2019. This is the first ever Red Bull B-girl Final for South Africa.

Both, with moves encompassing many different street styles; popping, locking, break and house dancing, B-Boy Benny and B-Girl Keisha beat 18 other great break dancers from East LondonCape TownDurbanJohannesburg and Port Elizabeth.

“The stakes were very high, especially considering the fact that I had taken a break. But, it’s an honour to return to the competition and land with a win; this means so much to me.” commented B-Boy Benny.

Hosted at The Shred Skatepark, on Saturday 27 April, the Red Bull BC One Final South Africa 2019 is the biggest African face-off battle as local breakers defied the laws of physics in the fight to win the 2019 title. The winner in the male category will represent South Africa in the biggest and most respected one-on-one B-Boy competition in the world, the Red Bull BC One World Final, which will be held in magnificent Mumbai on the 9th of November 2019. The winner in the B-Girl category will receive a trophy and be crowned the Red Bull BC One Final B-Girl of 2019.

B-Girl Keisha commented: “I am overwhelmed and excited to be the first ever Red Bull B-Girl champion – it does not get any better than this. I can’t wait to be back next year to defend my title.”

This year’s finals were preceded by a workshop that looked at encouraging the 20 dancers and teaching them the best ways of keeping their minds in shape, the pleasures of break dancing, and how breakdancing culture will have you leaping around with a more positive outlook. As if to bring more dance flavour, the 2019 jaw-dropping Red Bull BC One Final South Africa was judged by B-Boy Menno(Netherlands), Vouks (South Africa) and Angelo (South Africa).
